Lupine flour, toasted

This mild and nutty tasting flour contains plenty of high-quality plant protein, as lupins contain all essential amino acids. It is also popular in low-carb cuisine and alkaline recipes. Lupin flour is very versatile, easy to use, and has good baking and binding properties. It is also ideal as a vegan egg substitute and protein supplement in muesli and smoothies. Lupin flour is obtained by carefully grinding sweet lupin seeds. These are grown in Germany. Usage
Perfect for the preparation of bread dough, paddies, cakes or as thickener for soups and sauces. Add also to smoothies, shakes, porridges and mueslis to enrich them with proteins. For 'horchata', the refreshing drink from Spain. In recipes, replace up to 15% of the cereal flour with lupine flour. If necessary, adjust the amount of liquid until the usual dough consistency is achieved. As a vegan egg substitute: 1 tbsp lupin flour + 2 tbsp water = 1 egg.
